Farmers from all 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have stated that they are ready to take advantage of the prospects in the cassava and maize value chain as suggested by Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.
The farmers made this declaration Wednesday in Abuja under the authority of the Asiwaju Farmers Forum.
The group claimed Tinubu’s promise to make significant investments in the whole agricultural value chain if elected president the next year motivated them to seize the numerous chances in staples like cassava and maize.
Mr. Retson Tedheke, the group’s leader and national coordinator, said that for Nigeria to succeed, a fresh strategy must be used to address the country’s economic difficulties.
