Singer Temilade Openiyi aka Tems has bags three nominations at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2022 edition of the BET hip-hop awards.
This past Tuesday saw the announcement of the nominations for the awards, which honor hip-hop artists, producers, and directors of music videos.
Tems received three nominations for her collaboration with Drake on Future’s chart-topping song “Wait For You.”
she posted a video on her Instagram page saying “It’s about to be a shut down…”
The self-directed music video for “Last Last” by Burna Boy received a nomination in the category “Director of the Year.”
Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake came in second and third, respectively, with 10 and 9 nominations. Drake led the list with 14 nominations.
Baby Keem, Cardi B, and J. Cole were all tied with 6 nominations each, while Future received 8.
The American rapper Fat Joe will serve as host of the 17th iteration of the yearly award, which will be recorded on September 30 at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Centre and broadcast on October 1.
