Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Azeez Adediran aka Jandor chose Funke Akindele as his running mate, and social media exploded with reactions.
The fact that the PDP’s governorship candidate, Dr. Abdul Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, chose Fuke Akindele as his running mate elicited a variety of reactions on social media.
In an interview with Arise TV, Jandor explained why he chose the filmmaker and subtly criticized Nollywood.
Jandor revealed in his statement that he chose Funke Akindele, the entrepreneur, rather than the characters Sulia or Jenifa that she plays.
He went on to say that the ruling party, which had slammed them for choosing the actress, had previously given their ticket to another Nollywood star, Desmond Elliott.
What worries the politician, however, is the conspiracy of silence in the industry that has notable people who could have fought claims that being an actress doesn’t make Funke an ideal candidate for governance.
