Ruger Returns With A New Version Of “THE SECOND WAVE EP” (DELUXE EDITION).

Ruger, Jonzing’s rugged act, goes hard on the Second Wave Deluxe EP, dropping three new songs titled “GIRLFRIEND,” “WE WE,” and “WARNING,” all produced by Kukbeatz (Kukuruku).

Ruger’s six-track debut Pandemic hailed his arrival on the burgeoning Afropop scene, and landed him as the opening act for Burna Boy’s UK tour in 2021. Ruger reasserts his hit-making credentials on The Second Wave. His ongoing collaboration with veteran producer KukBeat is on full display here, staying true to the formula that brought him “Bounce.”

The EP’s highlight and twilight is “Dior,” where Ruger’s particular wit and self-assuredness are shown against an appealing percussion background.

Ruger is back today, June 17, 2022, with the Deluxe version of The Second Wave EP. The Second Wave demonstrates that, despite his brief career in the music industry, Ruger, named after the tough pistol, is not prone to firing blanks; the deluxe edition includes more firepower in the form of “Girlfriend,” “WeWe,” and other songs.
