Richarlison has finished his medical in Brazil and will likely travel to London the following week; Everton is under pressure to comply with Premier League Profit and Sustainability criteria; Spurs and Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence are also in advanced negotiations to be signed for £15 million.
Richarlison has completed his Tottenham medical in Brazil ahead of finalising a £60m move from Everton.
The 25-year-old forward completed medical examinations with a member of the Spurs staff present before taking a flight to London early the following week. His new team is scheduled to begin its preseason on Monday.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright first left after Tottenham made a written offer of £40m at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, thinking the price was insufficient.
With a further £10 million in add-ons, Spurs will pay an initial £50 million.
Despite not being thrilled with the entire £60 million package, Everton was forced to accept it in order to meet the deadline of June 30 and give Frank Lampard some wiggle space in the transfer market.
The deal was struck extremely late on Wednesday night, and the player will now have a medical in Brazil over the next several days before finalizing the transfer.
To sign Djed Spence, Tottenham is also in early negotiations with Middlesbrough.
