The 34-year-old French striker, who on Monday was hailed as the best player in the world at a gala in Paris, scored against Elche on Wednesday to keep Madrid atop the standings, but he won’t be available for Sevilla’s trip to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Benzema, who missed most of September with a thigh strain in his right leg, has five goals in seven league appearances this season.
