Yemi Alade, a popular singer, has spoken out against gender bias in society.
The Looking for Jonny singer is pleased that more conscious efforts are being made to encourage female artists.
Alade recently released a new song titled ‘Begging,’ which he stated was inspired by love. “My new single is about seeking the love that one deserves and holding one’s standards until one finds a love that gives as much as it takes,” she explained.
She also stated that she makes no apologies for highlighting Africa’s beautiful cultures at every opportunity. “I have always believed in originality and being genuine,” she said. This conviction has permeated every aspect of my life and career. Everything you see about me today, from fashion to music to lifestyle, is me in my natural state. There is no agenda at all.
“My greatest achievement is knowing that no matter where I am at any time, my family will always be well taken care of,” the singer said of her biggest accomplishments so far. It is the best gift I have, and I thank God for it.”
Alade said of her evolution over the years, “I believe change is the most constant thing, and something new is introduced every day.” For example, I used to fly around the world with only one live band from Nigeria, but now I have three. For European gigs, I have one band in Europe. I also have one in the United States of America and one in Africa.
