Cristiano Ronaldo and Son Heung-min lead the list of Premier League players nominated for Player of the Month in April.
Ronaldo was one of Manchester United’s few bright spots, scoring five goals in four games, while Son had four goals and one assist for Tottenham.
Newcastle record signing Bruno Guimaraes is also among the nominees, having settled in well on Tyneside and been a driving force behind the club’s impressive form in 2022.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is up for the award, having contributed at least one goal or assist in each of the four Premier League matches he played in April, as is teammate Gabriel Jesus, who has had a mini-resurgence in recent weeks and scored a league-high six goals.
Liverpool midfielder Thiago has been nominated for his outstanding performances, and Brighton winger Leandro Trossard is on the shortlist after scoring crucial goals to dent Arsenal and Tottenham’s top-four hopes.
Burnley defender Nathan Collins, who has looked dominant since the appointment of caretaker manager Mike Jackson, rounds out the eight-man shortlist.
