On Monday, the Kano State Government officially prohibited Tricycle operators, also known as ‘A Daidata Sahu’ in Kano, from operating after 10:00 p.m.
The ban goes into effect on Thursday, July 21, 2022, according to a statement issued and signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba.
According to the statement, the decision was made at the conclusion of a state security meeting.
“The measure was part of the state’s efforts to ensure the security of lives and property,” it said.
To that end, the statement urged tricycle operators to comply and cease operations at the specified time, while also warning that security agents would strictly enforce the ban.
Hoodlums are said to be using tricycles to carry out their criminal activities in the state.
