Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, could give Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho their second starts of the year when the Foxes visit Tottenham Hotspur in north London on Saturday.
They both scored their first goals of the season in the match, providing a rare positive for their partnership at Brighton. It was their first league start for both players.
Both starting for the first time in the Premier League this season, they combined inside a minute, Daka setting up Iheanacho.
Iheanacho’s goal brings his involvement in goals in the Premier League to 20 in his previous 25 games. He only made 13 Premier League starts last season, despite finishing as the team’s top scorer in 2020–21 thanks to a flurry of goals in the closing weeks of the campaign.
The Zambian then scored his first goal of the year after he grabbed Youri Tielemans’ ball that was thrown over the top.
After six league games, Rodgers’ squad is winless, and he claims he is looking for a “certain dynamic” in his team’s assault.
