Corpse of former Kogi NATA chairman found under bridge in Lokoja.
Jimoh Adebayo, the former chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), has been discovered dead under Lokoja flyover.
According to reports, his body was discovered on September 11 in Lokoja, the state capital, beneath a recently built flyover bridge.
Adebayo reportedly passed away under the flyover bridge four days ago, but his body wasn’t found there until yesterday, according to Daily Trust.
It was impossible to determine the exact reason of his death, according to a NATA member who wished to remain anonymous.
“We cannot say this is the cause of the death of the former NATA Chairman now. He was a wealthy man years ago, we later learnt he sold out everything he had in life. People said he went insane. We found his dead body in the early hours of today here,” said the member.
Later, the body was moved to Lokoja’s Felele Cemetery.
SP William Ayah, a spokesman for the Kogi State Police Command, acknowledged the development and stated that the command was aware of it.
The Police Warden assigned to the Ganaja Flyover Bridge observed the corpse on Sunday upon the start of construction, the speaker added, and reported it.
Aya emphasized further that when some individuals who identified themselves as his family members picked up the corpse, the Command was preparing to place it at the Mortuary.
He claimed that one of the family members’ undertaking resulted in the corpse being given to them.
