It said the action is consistent with the rekindled cooperation between the security agencies.

Controller Suleiman Bomoi remarked during the transfer ceremony that the drones had to be served because they had been imported without the required End User Certificate from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

According to him, the End User Certificate is required for the importation and use of drones in the country.

Rear Admiral Solomon O. Agada, the Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Navy, accepted the drones on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff and thanked Customs for their kindness.

He said: “I can assure you that these drones will be used appropriately in service to the Nigerian Navy and the nation at large.

I also on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, extend the appreciation of the Nigerian Navy to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, because this is done as part of the collaboration within the various security agencies in the country and that will continue to be in place as we work together to ensure security for our fatherland”.
