At a matchday two of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Sao Tome and Principe in Agadir, Morocco.

Last Thursday, the Eagles, led by new coach Jose Peseiro, opened the qualifying round with a 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone in Abuja.
The players landed in Morocco on Saturday night for the second game and began practicing on Sunday afternoon in preparation for the match on Monday.
Sao Tome, also known as the Falcons and True Parrots Team, lost 5-1 to Guinea-Bissau in their first match and will meet three-time champions Super Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Nigeria time at Stade Adrar, Agadir.

The Super Eagles captain, speaking at a news conference ahead of the game, said the Moroccan pitch was superior and that supporters might expect a different level of play from the team.
“Against Sao Tome and Principe, we want to win,” Musa remarked.
“However, we must surely play good football, like the coach demands.” And, as you can see, we have a fantastic pitch here (Agadir), so expect a completely different Super Eagles team tomorrow.”
Sierra Leone will face Guinea-Bissau in the other group A matchday two qualifier at the General Lasana Conte Stadium in Conakry.
